Can't decide ACOG or Aimpoint for your AR? [Image Heavy]

I really like the Doc Optic on top - I dont' get tunnel vision at all. I try to train myself to use the Doc optic as primary, and switch to ACOG if neeed.

Shotdot is knewl - but I really cannot affort 2400 bucks and the thing is pretty heavy. I also do not like the first focal point recticle - I don't like the dot size stays at 6MOA even the power is cranked up to 4X. I also don't like the dot intensity setting - it is either very bright or nothing. For the high speed people with clip on NVG and laser, it is good to go. For low speed high drag peasants like myself I need more intermediate settings.

NF 1-4 is a great optic in is MIL sale version - the civy one with no zero stop and worthless day visibility is a PITA.

The end of the day for a civilian user - use what you want -- for a duty optic, you rung what you brung, so two or more optics is not a practical option...

anyone expecting MOA in a combat shooting situation with a carbine is deluding themselves

Ok, so I got yer opinion on the "do it all barrel size", how about the best bang for the buck "do it all optic" in your opinion.
Thx. KevB.

Can anyone really say they prefer the looks of the S&B Short Dot over say, the Eotech or Aimpoint sights? You have to admit that when a civilian is spending that kind of cash of a sight, looks come into play even a little bit. IMHO I just think the ShortDot is ugly, looks like a rimfire scope that was put on backwards by mistake. I wouldn't be surprised if some FUDD at the range tries to tell you it's on backwards :)
