Alright, now i'm real upset!

I find it strange that when you have courted the landowner like you have for years that some-one else could just walk in & get exclusive permission

Is something left unsaid here?

find a spot with less jerks. i have a camp in a cluster of a few other camps and two residences. we all hunt on crown land in the area, we know we dont it, and the deer aint ours until tagged. but we all have stands we hunt and no one ever infringes on each others 'spot'. its just a courtesy, law of the woods.

I lost 20 acres of prime deer hunting property just 3 houses down from mine. I've hunted that property for 5 years and this year I found a huge 8 point shed and now 2 cops came in and asked the land owner if they could hunt and he says sure. I'm not aloud deer hunting there anymore and the cops even stopped in at my house to tell me that they took my spot and i should go take down my treestand. F&%king jerks, I'm betting the land owner is pissed because me and his grand son don't get along ( both same age and went to school together)

Yes that used to be the way it was even on crown land, but now anybody can just walk up & plump their fat ass anywhere they like...sad but legal!

Our camp owns 300 acres & hunts the surrounding 1,000 or so, never have other camps move in on us, nor would we do the same. But you do occasionally get "out-off-towners" that'll walk right into the middle of a hunt, but what can you do, times are different!

I have no problems helping out, but i am an hour and a half away from there. So yes the locals can help with something anyday of the week. Im limited to saturdays only, not sunday cuz they dont work sundays. Either way, the rules of the farmers is when the weather goes we go and they have no time to wait for somone like me to come up saturday to help. These ppl asked the farmer if they could put a trailer on his property, he even said yes. He said there is a couple of us already hunting there, but that didnt phase the other group. They wanted us out. They even went with the farmer to help him completely post the property. This is the part that irkes me, is our group just wants to get along and make room for everyone, and work with everyone. Then we are all happy. But other ignoramuses just completely want us out of these spots, whether we have been there countless years or not. We are not the first group to have problems with these guys is the local rumour floating around. They tried to move into other areas with other groups and pull the same crap, hence the reason some others took sledge hammers to all of their trailers last winter. You would think they could take a hint! And no i dont consider all the deer "our deer" its just irritating when you get so used counting on spots that produce, then tresspasing ppl who dont care AT ALL about us start shooting at them when you are in your stand looking at the deer. Half the time we have no idea where the shots came from until we see the orange coming out of the bush. Even last year one of our guys came up for one day, and had to kick 2 other guys out of 2 of our stands. Ruined his whole day. They actually sit and wait for us to not be in our stands for one reason or another, sick or something, then take it upon themselves to fill our stands for us. I think tommorrow i will take a drive up there and try to throw sum offers at the landowner, at least for next year.

BOOHOO, you last land and they happened to be cops. They were actually polite enough to let you know before you showed up for a hunt and got screwed. But they are the ####ing Jerks. Maybe you should have made nice with the landowner instead of blaming the cops. AKA the other hunters who went and obtained permission to hunt the land legally.

Wow, reason 9,453 never to move to Ontario!

The more pics I see from those western hunts the greener with envy I get.

Use to be the land owners were pretty consistent with letting guys hunt, now with residents and non residents coming in and paying money for land its getting harder and harder. Cant blame the farmer for not turning down a few bucks to offset some of his costs though.

More and more guys are buying little lots 20-40 acres just too have a spot and go hunt.
