Tavor vs Sig 550 Black Special

...are you going to bring them in for a decent price without the crap optics? Seriously not much can touch this rifle with the correct options. Such as a standard rail and no optics.

Also I'd like to see a match bull barrel for this rifle. That with good optics and this thing writes it's own ticket...

my exact take on Tavor. Standard rail and heavy profile barrel. I was initially thinking about buying Tavor and then machining my own barrel, something cool, heavy, fluted and in 6.5 MPC (don't mix with grendel) but... other projects took priority. And 3000$ (3500$) for a project rifle is a little too much.

Right now the issue we face on NEW orders is cost. As of today the price has increased by 30% due to the dollar. We hope the dollar will settle down in the new year.

For target shooting, the Tavor can't touch the Swiss Arms PE90 and is far from the PE90 "target" version. I used my PE90 (non-target version) to qualify on the 200-300yd range at Sharon with iron sights and did fine. The Tavor has a long and heavy trigger pull and optic is nothing to be desired. I'm going to look into a trigger job.

However, if you take a few noobs to the range, the PE90 is pretty cool, but the Tavor is the "####"! Warning - the Tavor is an attention whore at the the range.

I like my rifles to be similar to my women: If you can't butt stroke it, you miss half the fun!

Bullpups.... are just not to MY taste.

YMMV!!

I thought about the tavor but I'm not sure a bullpup fits my needs.
I'm going to wait for the 7.62 Sig Rifle
I don't know about you guys but I NEED a 7.62 non semi auto (other than the m14)

That sounds fine in theory until you handle one. ;)

No... In practice I always prefer handling the butt, too!

I'm more of a legs man myself. :D

The ergonomics of the Tavor were fantastic. I happen to like the concept of the bull pup. I like how you can put a non restricted barrel in one and it still handles like a restricted rifle. This also means you could put a longer heavier barrel and get the extra velocity/accuracy without the huge handling or length penalty. The last hing I liked was how the weight balanced was in the butt of the stock. No nose heavy operation with this. It goes nicely into your shoulder. Firing from the prone position was excellent too. You can use the mag to help support the rifle and it balances nicely at that point.

I was impressed with the overall ergonomics, design and handling of this rifle.
