Tactical Savage 99

Why not get something like this? :puke:

that is to say, what can/have/has anyone done with 99s to make them look less crappy (yeah yeah, 99 fans can settle down please...).
I keep thinking a 308 99 would be good for blasting around with, but they just don't seem ready for a picatinny rail, Ar15 style stock, 16 in barrel and synthetic furniture.
That all said, I am sure someone has taken the bedliner to one, and maybe a nice rail... how about some pics?
Anyone know of any good aftermarket parts for them?

Dude you are obviously suffering what those in the IT world refer to as an Id 10 T error - that's right yer an idiot!!!

Everything doesn't have to be "tactical" - and exactly what the hell is that anyway?? I guess nothing was ever killable before the term came along. It's a wonder that anyone was able to kill a grouse or a whitetail, let alone eradicate the bison.

Give your head a shake :slap: and then give/sell/trade that stick ot someone who can appreciate it for what it is...

blake

the stock is passable, but please tell me someone didnt mount that monster scope on a shotgun? im ok with red dots, reflex sights, but a scope that size on a shotgun??? bubba needs a new hobby.

There is nothing passable on that thing. The EE is full of brand new tacticool stuff that is pretty much useless for anything but fondling in front of the mirror.

oh and BTW ........ It's a rifle, not a SG. The owner posted a big thread a while back and got miffed with the mixed reception he got. Wonder why? ;)

You sure know how to start a fight.:kickInTheNuts:
This one got me enough bubba remarks when I owned it.

Yeah, I think I'd just go bedliner over the old stock rather than that route, but to each his own.
I see someone making fiberglass stocks for 99s, but they want 500$ for a set.... back to bedliner again I would say.

Waaaaa waaaaaa waaaaa, you suggested that 742 before, and ya know what, if you had it, I'd buy it....except for its being a Remington :slap:

The 99 in 308 lends itself to some mods, just that there are so few mods I see available, someone must know of some

The Savage 99 is a classic, why would anybody make mods for it? That dog don't hunt.

Take it from where it comes from guys, he's to busy sewing costumes for his cat all day and likes to mess with Savage collectors!

BTW, a little aside, but there was a SOG recon in Vietnam, named Jerry Shriver (MIA in Cambodia), this guy imported his Marlin in .444 he used to carry as a bunker-buster... but he kept it stock, no "embellishment".

I took my 1914 303 savage to my regular gunsmith and handed him a drum magazine off a AK-47 then asked him if he could retro fit it to the rotary mag off my savage. The last thing I remember was the image of a huge rubber mallet heading toward my forhead. I woke up on the other side of town in a alley with no pants or shoes, and a note stapled to my shirt that basicaly told me never ever to come back to his shop. That day I learned 99 are a special gun just the way they are.
