I'm about to start a parts search for a rifle one of my co-workers owns.

He says its a Browning Model M70 in .308win (semi-auto). I havent heard of this rifle nor can I find a damn thing about it. I think he must have something mixed up.

Other than the BAR what semi .308s have browning produced?

M70 is Winchester... The BAR is Browning... I think your co-worker is confused... Not sure what other sporting semi rifles Browning has produced.

Cheers

I also think he is confused.
I worked with a fella who asked me to pick up a couple boxes of ammo for his Savage 99 in 308.When I gave handed him two boxes of Rem 180gr Cor-Locts he said they wont work because they were 308 winchester, and his was a 308 savage. It took some convincing but he finally saw the light.

Another guy told me he had a BAR 30-06 but it used 7mm bullets.Turned out it was a 280,and his old ammo boxes had 7mmExpress remington printed on them.He stated the ammo was hard to get,and wanted to trade for a BAR in 308.I went out quick, and bought a used one,and traded with him.

i just bought a butt stock only for my Grade 1 (base model) Browning BL22 (and the dollar was good then) and it was close to $200. Nice piece of wood, fits perfectly and well done tho.

I was glad that WGP even was able to get it in -- it took several weeks and it was in a long overdue existing order yet.
