I suddenly lost accuracy with my M14s the last trip I took to the range. I took it apart for inspection and found the op rod guide not secure. The pin for it was missing. Anyone know why this would have happened and does anyone know where I can get another pin for the thing?

Those cheap chinese peices of chit break all the time. Hungry uses a 1/8 pin and inserts a smaller one in the center and bashes it home. If you get a chance look at the video of hungry's clinic. dammit I bought the 1/8 x 3/4 pin and then bought 1/16 x 1/2 pin and found out the 1/16 pin was too small( just fell through the 1/8 pin) so I just put the 1/8th pin and put a bunch of loctite on it. I will wait till it drys and see if it worked ok. Any other ideas?
Did you try putting the 1/16th pin inside the 1/8th pin after driving the 1/8th pin 1/2 way into the hole? That is the procedure we used at the Hungry M14 Clinic (asuming that the 1/8 and 1/16 sizes are correct. pm hungry to be sure)
Yup the 1/16 is way too small just falls right through.
X 2 What Thomas said ... red loctite and the end off a 1/8" drill bit are the way to go for reliabliity and permannence.

The original roll pins uised throughout the NORC M14 are sometimes VERY brittle. most common breakage is at the opr rod guide/barrel.
I've also replaced the roll pin in the trigger housing that holds the mag latch with a solid steel pin, and peened three "dimples" into the housing at each end
to make sure the solid pin does not walk out.
