So I've been scouting around the families farm land in Lacombe Alberta where I live & Finally I seen him the other morning, he looked good most likely about a 150 to 160 3 X 3 & thats good for around here, He was about 475yds away, I had my back against a Hay bail & my butt on the sort of cold ground, I got out there at about 06:45hrs & the sun started to come up @ 07:30hrs,
I was already seeing animals with the help of my 10X42EL's & had seen a Coyote cross about 150yds in front of me & a Mare moose eating from a tree about 300yds away, Now considering I'm just 3miles from town that is pretty cool. SO as the sun came up more I was able to get a better look a the deer I had seen, only now I was able to see antlers and they were looking fairly wide & tall for the Mulies around here, so I watched him for a bit then he went into the bush & that was it, but a doe plopped down along the fence line as though it was sitting gaurd or something, never the less they could not see me or smell me as the wind was in my favour. I figured it was time to go & to the right of me another coyote had gotten fairly close, although the wind was sort of going in his direction, equipped with my Swissarms Blackspecial, I carefully attempted to chamber a round but the action did not go all the way so I had to give it a little push, then clank smack I made too much noise & he took off, never the less I did not fire my firearm & spook my mulies, which probably worked out for the best, I just have a hard time not pulling the trigger when I see a Coyote. Anyway today I'm preparing for the big chance to get my first Mulie buck tomorrow morning & looking forward to it, if I get him or even a another buck I will post pictures.

Sounds like you have some good hunting grounds and you should be able to see more deer for sure.

I would definitly chamber a round as soon as im settled, that Swiss must make a pretty good racket for deer hunting.

Lacombe Alberta Mulie Buck Taken on Nov 04/2008 @ 06:50hrs With a 257 Weatherby magnum loaded with 115grain Barnes TSX.
This Buck was not the largest Buck I had witnessed in the herd while scouting, but it will do. It took 4 days of hunting to harvest this Modest but respectible Alberta Mulie Buck.
