Anyways, the guy does a penetration test with a TT33. Impressive. I think it was the only pistol round to defeat a Kevlar helmet.
 
Lots of people in Latvia carry TT's for personal defence. Primarily, due to its abundancy and cheap price. (The most expensive one I've seen was priced @ Ls 80.00, equivalent to CAD 173.00). But, personally this pistol wouldn't be my choice of CCW, since it lacks a safety device and stopping ability...And I won't carry either Norc 1911 due to it's size and weight...
 
depends on th model- the "original" ones had no thumb safety- ie the russian and the earlier chinese- ie before the model 54 or 54-1 or whatever it's called-when these were going to exported to the american market, the safety was added-
