16 years young, he started big game hunting at 14 and made every mistake that could be made. We told him hunting is all about mistakes and learning from them. Well he has put in his time and walked many miles in all kinds of weather.
Friday he was rewarded with his first buck... Can you remember your first buck? Well he wont forget his. He almost never made this hunt as he had football commitments . If they won on Monday he could not go because of City Championships. Well unfortunately they lost and in preperation for the game they all got Mohawk hair do's. After the loss he had to shave his head to remove the "Hawk" so don't be thinking he is a skinhead white supremist.

Any how here are pictures.

Shot on the run free standing ,through the eye and out the snout.:sniper:

What a hog of a Mule Deer Buck est 300lbs
Field dressing it the amount of fat covering the tenderlions was astounding.

Once we got this bad boy home and skinned it, the fat on the hind is 1.5" -2" thick ( normal )and goes all the way through to the shoulders and wraps around the rib cage and has large accoumulations in the leg pit area. I have never seen
a buck as thick as this one in 20 + years of hunting..

At any rate what a boomer first buck and he sure made us all proud.
Here is huntings future and here's to keeping our sport alive.

Cheers
Timo

Kidding!
Looks like a great start to a lifetime of hunting.
Looks like Dad is pretty proud.

Congrats, to all involved, on a job well done all round.

Good stuff! Don't have Mulies around here, understand they are not the easiest to harvest, big bucks anyways. Congrats!

I always like to see game pics but especially when they're from a younger hunter. Those are some great kills and I'm sure he's hooked for life judging by the look in his face. Well done.

I think they're easier. If you roust a mulie from the weeds, he'll gonly go about 100 yards, then turn broadside to take a look at you.
