I just bought the pistol off the EE, and new to smiths, anyhow it has something shaking inside it, and it sounds like ####,, the seller said there is a thread on it here, but I could not find it. Anyone know if this is normal and if so what is it?

Ive seen this same topic come up on the smith and wesson forum. Its evidently quite common for this rattle to be present and is due to the trigger stop rod rattling around in the rebound slide. Some guns rattle and others dont and if it really bothers you ,putting a bit of grease on the spring will cure it,(but that means dissassembling the gun, probably not something you should do unless you really have to).Another possible "cure",is to hold the gun muzzle up,and drop some oil down at the back of the trigger, this should run into the rebound slide.
If you gun is otherwise functional, just leave well alone and certainly dont start taking off the side plate for an otherwise non existent problem
