Couldnt have been a better day than today to spend at the range helping a friend break in a new 700 in 338 LM.Made up some light loads for him with IMR 7828, H1000 and some 215gr and 250 gr sierras around the 2800 mark.
put it all together the day before for him, and i gotta say, im most impressesd with the KYLE PRECISION ARMS base. very well designed and the 20 degree was the perfect fit. I will be useing there bases from now on im sure.
After about 20 rounds of break in we were able to acheve a half inch group at 100. most impressed with it for a short tube gun.
Anyways, it was a great day, and thanks again to the boys at KYLE

15 or 25$ group? sorry but i dont get it.

bipod isnt on backwards. legs are supposed to fold forward, or they will break/ bend if it is put on the other way with the recoil.

Just curious,as the way your bipod is on your rifle - the legs fold back towards the action - not towards the muzzle.

Is this just a Magnum thing, because every time I've ever used a Harris(20 years now) - the legs folded forward.

The USMC and US army do it the forward method - as per Harris mounting instructions.

Nice rifle though - must kick like a mule! How's it with the remington muzzle brake?

Cheers, Carl

you know what, i think maybe you guys are right, it is on backwards. its not suposed to be on like that, the legs ARE suposed to fold forward. i never noticed before, ill have to look at it next time i see him.
recoil is not as bad as expected for a 10 pd rifle. the brake seems to tame it down pritty good. mind you we only had some test loads, they were around 2800 fps with a 250gr

The website is very spartan right now, Kyle Precision Arms has been focusing al of its attention and resources on producing product for Canadian consumers. A new website with much more content and information is being built as we speak.

In addition to 20 MOA Remington 700 short and long action bases, a number of 40 MOA Rem 700 long action bases are ready for finishing. As well, a short run of old style Savage 110 long action bases were made. Savage Model 10 short action bases are starting production this week.

well this may sounds kinda funny, but i had loaded up a bunch of different stuff , sorta the bottoms of bullet boxes,to shoot for break in. didnt have any MK bullets, that will happen today.
out of all the stuff i had loaded, this rifle shot the speer grand slam 250gr bullets the best at around 2850fps. i cant remeber for sure, that was ether with IMR 7828 or H1000. if anyone really wants to know i have the book in the shop with it all written down.
the worst groups were with a hornady 225gr bullet, at about 4". mind you this was break in, bore cleaning every round, and every 3rd round

Near Manufacturing makes a 75 moa base.

If I can find the real estate, this is what I am leaning towards.
Kyle Precision Arms can make any custom MOA under the sun, at no additional cost.

60 MOA Remington 700 bases are on the production schedule by request.
