Bead Blasting Equipment

If one were looking for a blasting setup for glass beading gun parts, barrels etc....where would one look?

I did the google thing but got nothing but long lists of directories and some $200,000.00+ machinery.

Looking for the plastic "50gal drum" style. Also would need compressor and pot I guess.

Any idea what the minimum cost is to set something like this up? Are we talking thousands?

I was planning on purchasing the floor standing cabinet one from princess auto. I seem to remember checking the dimensions in the past and wondering if it would fit a 26'' barreled action.
Off the top of my head, without checking the dimensions again, I think I remember it fitting.

So a 30" or better or a barrel blank would not fit then I suppose?

If you are patient you can do the barrel a bit at a time, taking breaks for the little compressor to build the pressure back up. It will not change the end result any, just takes a little longer. You can also put a smaller sandblasting wand in the cabinet if needed. That is all that is in there anyway. Actually..there is a hole on the left end of the cabinet that is approx 4" in diameter. If you can come up with some type of trap to keep the media inside..you can stick one end of the barrel out through the hole.
I used a bag that lead shot came in. It wasn't completely air tight but worked.
We used a small compressor with a 5 gallon tank and it did the job but was a pain to use. You either had it running flat out or you had to stop and wait for it to build pressure.
I'll see if I can find the required cfm for the cabinet.
We have an oil free Coleman compressor now. It's 5 hp with a 55 gallon tank ( I think).
It works much better but I plan on upgrading to a 2 stage some day.
