While researching the Hi-Power I found out about the BDM. It looks like it was only manufactured for seven years in the 90's, so is it considered a rare gun here in Canada? I would like to get one as I like the Hi-Power and read that the BDM is just a touch thinner (I have girlish hands :( ). Were they even sold here in Canada?

It's not a rare gun in a sense that it's a collector item, but as you said they were only manufactured for a few years and were never very popular, so it may be a bit hard to find one. To the best of my knowledge, they were sold in Canada as Browning BDM (not to be confused with the 1970s Browning BDM, which was a Sig Sauer with a Browning stamp).

If a BDM looks like this, I own one and they are a great pistol. They can be fired like a D/A only or as a conventional semiautomatic. The accuracy is just below a Walther P88 or Sig P210. High Cap Magazines for the BDM are trendy here in the States but that will not be a concern in Canada. Regards, Richard:)
