Does remy's new r15/r25 "do it" for you?

The R25 in .243 would interest me as a farm rifle if it weren't restricted.

It's also a little heavy at 8-3/4 lbs. and would get close to 10 lbs. once you added mounts, optics and sling making it a little more than one might want to carry great distances.

ANY time a gun maker turns out a 'tacticool' or 'Military style' rifle that's specifically built and designed for hunting, its a good thing. It really promotes and proves our stance that these so called 'human killing machines with no purpose' indeed do have a valid use. (of course, they have always had valid self defense uses, but that's a much tougher sell up here.)

If hunters don't use semi autos - why do they have a gun like this in their line up?

The win 94 was an 'assault rifle' in it's day. Most of our guns come from ex military designs that have been modified for civillian use purposes like targets, sport shooting and hunting.

It's a good thing for us, wish it weren't restricted here.

If we are basing our weapon choice on "looks" alone...

I would WAY rather hunt wiht an AR style rifle than a rifle that looks like this:

A rifle like the one above SCREAMS tacky....

yeah. I'm still going to choose the BDL thanks. Wood&Blued steal wins every time over semiauto mallninja bulls**t ;)

Well, you like the looks of glossy scopes, so that says everyhting about your taste- You like flashy...I'm surprised you do't own several Weatherbys from the 1970's and 80's:)

I'll take tactical over tacky.;)

That's interesting to hear folks talking about making the AR platforms more PC. I'm as far away from that is it comes, but I thought the same thing when I saw Armalites new brown stocks. It kind of has that warm fuzzy wood look and makes them appear not so threatening. I think without the carry handle and a scope in it's place, and with a short mag, most folks won't know the difference between it and a Remington 742. But if you put those two next to a regular AR-15/M-16 rifle with the black stocks and asked which of the three was the most dangerous and evil, well, you know what they would say.
