It appears to be select fire. You can tell immediately by the small pin thats above the selector switch.

What are the benefits for any contract force?
For short terms they can save money, they can have greater skills, or they could just reduce the visible army footprint, or all or none.

Lower is select fire - the right way - Safe, Semi, Auto
Burst is for fools who want to ruin a good semi-trigger pull.
Auto is never used anyway, other than for a warm feeling that you could use it.

It's looks like there is an extension button on it, look at some of the first pics.
Although in the next series of pics it's gone??

Different version of the Redi-Mag allowed me to get rid of the Bolt Catch extension

Never? Never laid down cover-fire or something like that that facilitates it?

Suppressive fire isn't!
While it may make you feel better - it really not doing anything at all other than wasting ammo.
Beltfed guns on bipods can somewhat suppress positions effectively - but a mag fed hand held gun cannot.

Aim more --> Shoot less

I have three little questions:

1- How do you find the charging handle latch;
2- What are your feelings towards the flip up iron sight;
3- How's the Glock standing up to the abuse and climat?

PRI handle is thick enough to stop biding when used one sided (I do it all the time) -- there is a tech memo out from JSOC to stop using the Hk416 with PRI handles due to binding, but I have yet to experience it, and most people I know with 416's are still using the PRI's

On the Redi-Mod - one version has a bolt actuation button to allow you to lock it back, and use your thumb to drop the bolt --- the other version uses the BCE (Bolt Catch Extension) so as a result - you have the option to chose.

I generally drop the bolt from the bolt catch after I push-pull my mag - for me it is an easier action, more streamlined -- I understand the theory behind running the charging handle - but I dont do it -- IMHE, its a six of one, half dozen of another issue, that the end user will decide on.

flip front sights - I will get back to that later.

Glocks -they are fine, I dont like them, I refer a 1911, as I shoot them better, and I like a nostalgic attachment to them.

I like Larry Vickers' thoughts about the 1911 (http://www.vickerstactical.com).
He thinks that the 1911 is an aficionados weapon and requires a lot of care and time to keep them running. He goes as far as to say that most (note I said most, not all) people shouldn't run a 1911.

My favorite though is that he says that "if you treat your pistol like you treat your lawnmower, get a Glock".:D.

keep in mind LAV says the 1911 is the finest combat handgun of all time, and also the kind of the feedway stoppage - he ran a 1911 the last class I took with him, as did Ken Hackathorn.

I have a 1911 from LAV -- I will get around posting some pics of it.

Vickers and Hackathorn have probably put more .45 down range than this whole board combined (LOL). He obviously thinks the 1911 is the best or he wouldn't use it. He simply stated it is not for the novice, or even your above average shooter. The article I read about him was very interesting and most informative. I'd like to see the pic of the Vickers 1911 you have.

Cheers
