I was wondering if someone would have some answers for a few questions i have about a Colt Mk IV series 80 grip safety that was deactivated by the previous owner. I recently purchased the above mentioned pistol from someone at CGN who shall remain nameless. When i got it there was a host of problems with the pistol but i have fixed all but the grip safety. It appears that as a part of a trigger job to this gun the smith deactivated the grip safety by removing metal from the tag the butts up against the back of the trigger. I was going to purchase another grip safety from one of the mail order places but some of them specifically state that they require modification to the frame. Does that mean the pistol frame or the frame of the grip safety? I fully expect to have to "fit" the new grip saftey by modifying the tang to fit properly but dont want to make any modifications to the frame of the pistol. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
