Ok, I dont think this question has been asked in any of the other Prohunter threads Ive read so here it goes.

If I get a T/C Prohunter in a centerfire rifle caliber and get a blackpowder barrel for it I also need to get the fore stock to go with it as the blackpowder forstock makes room for the ramrod. However, if I get a Black powder model and get a centerfire barrel for it do I still need to get another forestock to accomadate the centerfire barrel, or will the BP forestock work?

Thanx

Yes you need a centerfire stock for a centerfire bbl. The screws (that attach to the bbl) on the bp bbl are much larger than the ones for the centerfire bbl.
The bp stock will work but you'll have to find long enuf screws of proper pitch to reach the threads, I've tried this, yes it does work but you may as well pay the $40 bucks + tax and get the proper forestock.
I may have a spare Encore forestock (black syn.) for sale.

Due to the different barrel contours, you need the appropriate forestock or you could run into pressure issues causing accuracy problems.

Pro HUnter

My Pro hunter in 7mm-08 Rem with a Bushnell Elite 3200 4x12x40 AO weighs in at just over 7lbs, it is very comfortable and light to carry...

Cheers

How are people finding the accuracy of their Prohunters? I held one the other day and REALLY liked it. Has anyone tried the thumbhole stock? Any major glitches or problems to look for?

i have put a pro hunter camo thumbhole butt on my regular encore receiver and love it. haven't had any accuracy issues with any of my barrels. but have heard of the hinge pin beeing sloppy and people having accuracy issues with that. also heard of people taping the hinge pin so it wont move and correcting the issue. i guess there is always a place for duct tape!!! seriously though they have a new hinge pin that bolts through and holds everything in place. if that makes any sence?

I'm not a huge fan of the thumbhole on the Prohunter but some guys love them. The stock design of the Encore does make them recoil heavy and I find your wrist is subject to a great deal of the recoil with the thumbhole stock. As for accuracy, all mine are shooters!
