Just wanted to show off some pics of my new custom 308 from Rick over at ATRS. Rick is unreal to deal with, well worth the money spent! I will have to test it out soon, here is what I got put into it, it started off as a Remington 700 SPS:

-22" Rock barrel, 1:10 twist
-HS Stock
-Bedded, action trued, trigger tuned....etc
-Bolt knob installed
-20moa NF 2-piece base

Eventually all the stainless will be painted OD green, but for now this is how she looks:

My sling is nicer than your sling :) Now as for the rifle, yours may just be a little nicer than mine. Very solid looking.

Looking forward to seeing some groups (is that snow in the forecast for you?).

Very nice to say the least!
If you don't mind me asking ?$ did it set you back without the optics.

I sold the barrel and the stock on the SPS for about $150 profit. So without shipping ($60) and including 5% GST and minus $150 for the SPS parts, is cost me a little over $3000

Any reason you went with the 2-piece base, or just personal preference?

A one-piece can put tension on the receiver if the receiver or even if the base is out of spec and doesn't match perfectly (I've heard this can string your groups, but who knows). Rick made sure my receiver was in spec so I could have went with the one-piece, but in my case I don't need all that extra room. Plus I get a bit more hand clearance to the camber....So really it boils down to personnel preference in my case.

Very nice.....and because Rick built it you only need to set out pop cans at 1000 yards as targets instead of heavy back breaking steel gongs!! Rick takes care of his clients in many ways haha...

Mr/Mrs 1000 yards

Very nice looking pipe , with one of the most beautiful Crowns i've ever seen !! ----------- can't believe I just said that , --- must be some kinda Fruedian "envy" !

LOL

You gotta get out more... :D

That is one huge bolt handle! It should drop on it's own once the bolt is fully ahead ... :D

I like the neat lettering on the barrel... hows that done Rick?

Bolt knobs is aluminium, and the lettering is done by engraving. Thats at least what I know from always being around the shop, but if I am wrong (pretty sure I am not), Rick will clarify.

For you smiths and metallurgists out there: Is there a bluing or anodizing process that can change the barrel to Olive or Khaki rather than paint? Just curious.
