Hello good people, my name is A.T. and I live in Nicholasville, KY (just South of Lexington). I found this forum from another forum. I'm 63 years young. :)

I was born and raised in Texas. I shot and reloaded .38, .357., .44, .243, 30.06, and 7mm, during the '70's. Then I was part of a "NASTY" divorce, plus I got the hots to make knives. So between the two, I sold all my guns. In the long run, that was good. Back in '01, my company laid me and a bunch of other good people off. My knifemaking helped keep food on the table. Thankfully, my Social Security kicked in last December. Life is Good!

Earlier this year I got the shooting bug again, and I purchased a S&W M&P 9mm compact. Then I purchased a full size M&P. I just recently purchased a STI 9mm Trojan. :dancingbanana:

Since then, my wife and I got conceal carry licenses and joined the Blue Grass Sportsman League http://www.bgslinc.com/. Then I started shooting IDPA and USPSA this spring. Man, are they a lot of fun.

Anyway, I've probably told you all way more than you wanted to hear. I'm looking forward to learning more from you fine people.

Stay Safe,

A.T.

welcome aboard, i havent been to kentucky in years,

i hope you injoy your stay
and come back often :)

Welcome:

I love Kentucky. It is beautiful country. Plus the people there are so friendly.

My favorite part is Knob Creek. I have been there are a few times for the full auto shoot & show. What an experience.

Wow! Welcome aboard. I agree Kentucky is a great state w great people.

I've noticed a 100% increase in the number of Americans on this site in the last 6 months. I'm glad to have you, but , can I ask why your joining a Canadian gun site? Seems redundant to me. Americans have all the great toys, and we have no advantages relatively speaking. Plus all the legalese can't help you either. What brought you here?

Again, you are most welcome here and I don't mean to offend. I'm just curious.

Welcome aboard and learn from our mistakes then it comes to discussions about surrendering any part of your 2nd amendment rights

Welcome to Canada A.T.,
Lots of good folks on this board and if you ever make a trip north, you'll be able to find lots of kindred souls who like to have a good time and play with toys that go bang, wherever you choose to go here.

One more "WELCOME" atbarr!

Come on up to Canada, some time, and visit us in person!

Although we definitely do have our share of idiotic laws and restrictions, as you can probably tell from this forum we aren't actually as "disarmed" as most Americans may think! :canadaFlag:

Hello good people, my name is A.T. and I live in Nicholasville, KY (just South of Lexington).... A.T.

Welcome! You might be the first Kentuckian (if that's the correct term) on CGN. Much to my surprise, when I was researching my biological parents a dozen or so years ago, I discovered that my father was born in the tiny hamlet of Coopersville (SSE of Monticello, near the Tennessee border. Pop. 1600 today. A bit smaller in 1903!) That may explain why I like bluegrass.

Then I was part of a "NASTY" divorce, plus I got the hots to make knives.

Er... I hope those two weren't connected!

:) Stuart

Good to hear from you. My wife and I were near Lexington this past summer. Kentucky in the summer looks like Ontario--and near my home is King City, the race horse capital of Canada and home to many thoroughbreds. It looks like Kentucky, except that the Ice Age glaciers scrubbed away the beautiful red soil that your home state still has.

We hope to return soon. You'll find lots of accurate info here, and now with Barack and Nancy running things in the US, we might have some political firearms things in common, too.

Welcome AT. I was born in Louisville but have lived in Canada for many years (since 1959). Still have lots of aunts, uncles and cousins living in Richmond, Lexington and Louisville and I try to get down when I can.

Again, welcome aboard

Many thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! I've been to Canada twice. Once in Vancouver to visit the Creo plant and of course to purchase a few Cubans :D and once I crossed over at Niagara Falls, NY to do a little gambling and of course to buy a few Cubans.:dancingbanana:

Stay Safe,

A.T.
