Introducing the "M40 Eh? 1 " .... lol

popcan, just have a question about the conversion. Since it was a top-loading rifle before(correct?), does modifying the stock(cutting the hole in it for the magazine) effect the strength or durablility of it or any future flex it may have?

Just wondering, stunning rifle!

thanks

The rifles came just like 700BDLs, with hinged floorplates, just in steel, so only slight stock modifications are required.
As for difference in strength, I can not see that there would be difference, other than faster easier to load.

Stock is already set up for a Williams steel hinged floor plate triggerguard. The VBULL mag system is actually better, solid walls and then utilizes the AI mags which are very strong.

This takes a traditional hinged floorplate rifle and moves it into the modern magazine fed era. The only thing that was needed for his triggerguard was the inletting for it to fit.

Quite frankly, I'm waiting to see if AI comes through with the promise to produce a .223 magazine. If they do, my 700 LTR .223 will be getting the VBULL system.

Cheers, Carl

Ah, ic. learn something new

Thank you :)

I can't argue with you there! :)

You did an amazing job on building that rifle.... the scope alone is likely worth more than my complete rig!

Had you said that a couple of years ago I'd have told you to send her here along with the rifle. You're lucky!:D

Hey, are telling me that you are no longer participating in the "single mountie Rut? " :p Are congrats in order?

Who'd a thunk it! My daughter is safe at last!

She'll be very pleased to hear that she can finally leave Tibet! :dancingbanana:

Looks great popcan! .. i used to have one alot like it! More great work from Rick.

The VBull conversion is sharp. Very sharp. How did you manage to sneak onto Rick's two full white boards ahead of everyone else!!!!??

:)

Don't get sentimental about the inventory man...make it work for you:cool:

Thanks for the vote of confidence sparrow - I did wonder if it would be heretic to put the v bull into this stock, and even thought about getting another stock to do it on... but in the end, came to just the conclusion you stated. No regrets! :)

A true sin would have been putting a mag conversion in a vintage authentic
M40A1. Much the same as having flames painted down the front fenders of your 69 Hemi Superbird:eek:
Functionality is more important to me, especially on a clone, even a real good clone.

Rick, in days gone by I had to consider administering that very same cure, or be faced with the nightmarish possibility of calling him "son"! :runaway: :runaway:

But back on topic,

I like the locking feature on the mag, ......I wonder how come all mag systems don't have something like that! It makes so much sense!
