I need bases and rings for my Stevens 200. I have a bushnell trophy 3-9x40 mil-dot. The tube on the scope isn't very long, and it needs to be mounted about where it is in the picture for good eye relief and to clear the bolt (it can probably go lower, it's hard to tell really)

I know nothing about mounts and rings, and my local shop didn't have anything in stock. So what do I need, and just as importantly, where should I order it? Thanks!

The easiest and cheapest way to mount this scope is to use two piece weaver bases...rear use #46 (M if you want mattte) and front #402 extention (Again M if you want matte). Bases are $6.00 in stock. Any weaverv ring in the med height will work. Phil.

Thanks for the help all - but it looks like this wont work at all. Despite the advertised 3.4" eye relief, it seems to be more like 2.5". There is no way I can use this scope without mounting it a mile back or smooshing my face way too close. I guess there's a reason I was given this scope for free. Too bad really, I was hoping to get an affordable setup using a scope I already had. I guess it'd work good on my .22.

Anyone have any scope recommendations? Longer eye relief, and a longer tube so I don't need extensions, and won't break the bank? I'm already over budget. I don't need any major magnification either.

depending on what you want to do with the rifle and what your budget is:

Bushnell 3200 10x42 tactical or one of the variables in this class, one of the better line of scopes for the money, I sell a lot of them, this coming from a guy that only has VXIII's and VXL's, I probabley have more $ in optics than firearms. If you can afford it get better glass, you won't regret it.

Its use will be deer hunting. 50-120ish yards, with the closer ranges being more likely. I'd love an expensive scope but it just ain't in the cards. I'm just gonna keep my eye on the EE and hope I catch a deal. Thanks all.
