I know that using a lead bullets in Glocks barrels in a no-no, however, is it safe to use copper clad/ CMJ bullets?

I exclusively reload for my pistols, and am interested in one day getting a G17

I reload 124g FMJ/TMJ for my Glock 17 and use conservative loads for a few years now. In the first batch I had some issues with the rounds chambering properly but some tweaking of the resizing die eliminated this problem. If you want to use lead bullets there are after market barrels that you can buy that don't have polygonal rifling. Good luck!!

My Glock(s) have never seen factory ammo.

I've used plated as well as jacketed boolits, but I don't like nekkid lead boolits of any sort... Shooting indoors they're just to damn smokey:)

Aftermarket barrel goes a long way in a Glock - It's not uncommon to see case buldges on factory loads with factory barrels.

If you're going to reload go .40S&W (or other) it's almost not worth it to reload 9mm (the cost savings is minimal).

Considering I can reload a box of 115gr FMJ for half the price of commercial ammunition, I do wonder where you get your numbers. Components for the .40 would cost more than the 9mm, so he won't be saving any money that way. For the Glock I use a reduced load to avoid any case bulging, and the resizing die takes care of that anyway. Since I am just shooting paper I don't usually load to factory specs anyway, but ymmv. As always, be sure you carefully check your cases before you reload them to spot any weak spots or cracks in the case.

I've been using all types of fmj, cmj, wc, hp, swc for reloading for the glock. Just be sure to check oal between the different brands and different types of bullets you will reload, make sure that oal is factory length or else it won't cycle propertly. I've been using 115, and 124grain stuff, you shouldn't have a problem. I do have a lonewolf barel though

9 mm factory ammo's, when i find it in my place, sells for 17$ to 20$. Reload cost me about 7$ a box. Can you please point me where i can find non-lead ammo's for that price?

Hey, you guys, would you mind not pointing out the cost savings to 9mm shooters - where the hell am I going to get more once fired brass for free if these guys start picking it up and reloading

I shoot handloaded plated or jacketed bullets exclusively. Glock barrels are excellent quality, accurate, easier to clean and will give you a velocity increase over regular cut rifling. I see little point in using an aftermarket barrel in a glock unless you want to shoot a majority of lead bullets.

Ok, I can still get it for $12/box (buying 1000rnds at a time) for factory ammo out here which explains things.

Taking all the necessary precautions, shooting lead bullets is always cheaper than jacketed rounds.
Buy a Lone Wolf distributors aftermarket Glock barrel and drop it in your Glock. Shoot all the lead you want.

I f***in' hate you cheap bastages who shoot plain lead boolits.... Especially when I'm ROing you :D

The smoke get's in me eye's lungs an' everywhere!

I shoot plated 124gr bullets in my G17. My loads also lean to the top end of the chart...not maximum, but getting there. I end up with a bulge above the extractor groove in all my Glock fired brass (factory and reload). Reusing them in the G17 is fine, but they need to be run through my Lee crimp die to remove the bulge if I am to use them in another pistol.
