Anybody have a picture of a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 mounted on a Tikka T3?

I have a buddy who is considering this combo... The rifle is a T3 Lite SS,
in .270

My .02..............

What's he shooting that he feels he needs all that magnification?

Seems to me, a "lite" rifle cries out for a "lite" scope, otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose. Me, I'd be inclined to put a 2-7 or max 3-9 on it. Plus it would balance out the rifle better IMHO.

Personally I'd put the big honkin scope on a heavy barrel target rifle.

But, whatever floats his boat.

the 6500 2.5-16x42 is big, but not that big. 30mm tube. Nice scope, although I personally wouldnt put one on a 270 :)

Thanks for the opinions- My buddy has done his fair share of hunting and I'm sure he knows exactly how much magnification he wants, and 'needs'. Neither I nor him are looking for anything here other than a picture.

How much bigger is the 6500, than say, a VXIII in 3.5-10?

Here's one with a 3200 3-9x50mm, which weighs about 19oz...

That's what I have on my Win 70 Classic Sporter in 30-06 and I like it a lot.

A little eye-relief finicky compared to the 4200s but for the money I am happy with gettin that rifle scoped.

I have to say this is a very odd question.
If it was a high grade custom sporting rifle I could see the logic but it's a black scope on a black coloured rifle, right?
Do either of you have photoshop?
Seems easier to me.

I have one of thse scoped on a 7mm wby mag. I love the low initial number. It is so easy to find game in. It is the ultimate medium distance scope that Ive seen.

Tell your buddy to picture this .........[ A big, black target sized scope on a stainless steel/black plastic stocked T3 ] ;)

A 2x7 Leupold would be a MUCH better choice for a big game hunting rifle.

I agree that the magnification seems a bit much on a light weight hunting rig...
However, if that's what the gentleman wants, who are we to naysay!
The big advantage of the 6500 series, apart from excellent quality glass at a 'real world' price is the constant eye relief with change in magnification.

My choice would be a Kahles CL 2-7x36 4A, but then again that's not what you're asking! I have a Bushnell 6500 mounted on a Savage 112BVSS in 300WM. If you mount one of these on a Tikka, I would stick with the 42mm version not the 50mm which is likely to require higher mounts.

It is so easy to find the target. I was scoping a coyote in some scrub yesterday. It also has a wide range 2.5 to etc. The 2.5 is nice in close and it dials up nicely.
