Canada Ammo 1911 pics / Range report updated!!!

Overall they are a nice looking 1911.... Even nicer with the wood stocks installed...

Although. the first thing I'd do is swap out the lame extended slide stop for a standard one just like I did on my Norc NP-29 [single stack 1911A1 in 9mm].............

Yeah that extended slide release has got to go! I put a Wilson on my NP 29.

I also much prefer the blued version, the 2 tone is a little garish IMHO.

The other thing I noticed is that the thumb safeties have quite an edge on them, might be time for a little dehorning with the Dremel.

I'd probably take it out altogether and put a standard Colt thumb saftey in it anyway.

Canada Ammo - Does anyone there answer their toll free number on Saturdays? Called twice this morning to place an order but just get voice-mail. Anybody got the "skinny" on how to get an order done?

We use a great thing called "Internet".

I tweaked the pics a bit.

Here is my results. It's also from CanAm's new 1911 (all black).

I tried two loads, first is high speed load: 200gr RN cast lead bullet, 7.8 gr (!!!!) Longshoot powder.

The reload chart says the bullet speed should be 1,000fps ~ 1,100fps. Very high for 45ACP. However, the recoil is not hash at all. It's a nice surprise.

Then I tried something more routine: 200 gr RN with 4.4gr Clays powder. Very accurate. Being a scoped rifle shooter, I still had very hard time using pistol iron sight. I say my Norc 1911 is as accrate as the one belongs to Maple Sea. However I can't shoot a pistol well yet.

M Sabre.... Those are actually pretty respectable targets. The plus is your shooting can only improve with practice.

You guys have me sold.... I'm ordering an all blued one first thing tomorrow...

Try going with a 230 grain bullet load. My Norc likes 230 gr. cast lead bullets with about 5.5 or 5.6 grains of Unique. Sorry no pics of the results, but I can tell you they shoot real nice, but a bit lower than factory ammo for some reason.

You're too late man. They're all sold out.

Just kidding! LOL

I was in Buffalo Gun Center last week.

They have a old GI model Norc 1911, NIB but the finish is much rougher compare the new 1911s from CanAm.

That 1911 is labeled "699USD ONLY"!!!
