Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can help answer a question.

If I put a telescopic stock (like a blackhawk one or Knoxx)

what is the minimum bbl length i need to keep this non restricted?

any help is good thanks

I have the Knoxx on my Dlask 8.5 870, fully collapsed it is 1/2 to 3/4 over legal. Perfect. And 8.5 is the shortest manufactured barrel I have heard of so far anyways. :)

Not to hi-jack this thread, but I didn't think my question
warented it's own.
Here it is; if I put my 12.5 Dominion arms barrel on my
Rem 870, keeping the factory stock set-up in place and
the overall length is around 29", it would still be non-res.
wouldn't it ?
Even tho, the reg. cert. for my 870 pertains to the gun
when I bought it saying 'barrel ###mm or longer"

The answer is going to vary...depending upon whom you have asked.

I suggest that you ask both your lawyer and the CFC.

These NFA links are pertinent. Print them and provide them to your lawyer when requesting his opinion.

The answer is actually quite simple.

You can get the gun 're-verified' and listed as 'shorter than 470mm' on your registration if you wish.

OR - you can simply change the barrel every 30 days and be fine. You have 30 days to inform the CFC.

I have two shotguns that are 'receiver only' on the registration. I just make sure I take them apart at least once every 30 days, and I am in full compliance with the law.

Very good, Thank-you.
