Bench to Use for Reloading?

There are a few threads in the search function to do with reloading benches. They vary from permanent work benches that would take a direct hit from a bomb, to a 2x6 plank clamped to the table!:D

My own bench(if you can call it that) is a microwave stand that was getting thrown out. A 3/4 piece of plywood screwed to the top, and it was good to go. It wiggles a bit, but a 2x4 underneath the front and its good to go.

I've only reloaded for pistol, so I imagine a set up for rifle cartridge reloading would need to be a touch more sturdy.:)

I checked out the Black & Decker Workmaster tables, they run about $70. Would this be suitable if I rig it up for my Lee Press?

anyone use a portable workstation like this?

I have a Lee press attached to a portable Black & Decker bench and it works fine.

Regards,

Chizzy

A three drawer bedroom dresser with a piece of 3/4 plywood added for strength and screwed down on the top. Bolt on press and stuff in storage cupboard in the suite hallway and there will be ample place for storage also. Hint.....reinforce the drawer bottoms if you intend to store heavy components. You can add narrow shelves against the wall too for incidentals

I can't believe it....every now and then someone asks the same question. Possibly the moderators could make the info permanent. I have a work bench that I purchased from Home Depot. It has rollers for easy portablility which lock when you arrive at the correct location. The top is laminated and must be at least two inches thick. Has storage space and locking drawers. It is so nice that my wife wanted to use it as an island in our kitchen. It is the cat's ass! I got mine on sale for $100.00. It is one great addition to my gun room. Dave

No offense intended, but pretty much every topic on this board, other than the constantly changing political world, has been asked before. "First handgun", Tikka T-3, Rifle for new hunter, New to Reloading."

Why not share your knowledge? It's all been asked before at one time or another. :)

For God's sake don't use the Black & Decker!!!:runaway:

Buy the Canadian Tire version and save some bucks.:D

Thats what I did before I traded up to a Canadian Tire work bench and replace the top with 3/4" ply.

I built my own reloading bench for $25, its very big about 30" deep and 50-60" wide. Got the designs off the web. Basically used 2x4's and OSB.
