.22LR Dynopoints are Back!!!

Maybe this is the completely wrong thread to ask about this, but have some pity on a fellow who doesn't know any better. Is a brick of Winchester .22 LR hollow-point hi-vel Xpert at $13.95 a decent price for the quality? There's also Win .22 LR hv 40-grain solids (Wildcats) going for $14.94.

Just asking because I saw it in my neck of the woods...

The price are about the same as in my part of the woods... last year they were bout about $1.50 cheaper.

Personnaly, I haven't had much luck with the hollow point X-Pert. It will not cycle the AA conversion kit and is jamming a lot in the 10/22. But seems to work ok in bolt action rifle. I have no complain with the Wildcat, it is my default plinking ammo if Dynapoint is not available.

I've been using X-pert (500 pack) lead 36gr hp IIRC I got it from wal-mart because it was cheap. I like Dynapoints a LOT better btw, or anythung copper plated (cleaner to shoot). Haven't used Wildcats in very long time, don't even remember what they were like...

As a cheap

bulk ammo for blasting down range it shoots pretty decent out of my 10/22. A lot cheaper than the 48.00 for a tin of Lapua Standard club.

It also shoots well out of my Browning Buckmark pistol. Shot it last Sunday off the bench at the pistol sillhouetes and hit the Ram quite consistently at 100 yards with open sights.

Cannot ask for anything better out of it.

In the market for another .22 I'm thinking of getting another Marlin 925R (regret sellling the first one) because it was rediculously accurate at 75yards with dynapoints. But was also looking at the Marlin model 60.

Do the dynapoints cycle with relatively no problems in model 60's? I've heard that HP's like to jam in most semi's, if thats the case I'll stick to loading magazines until my fingers are raw!!!

Actually, I never found a place in the GTA/southern Ontario that sold them...:(...it was a false lead...advice?
I stopped in at a WalMart  in Parry Sound to pick up some supplies heading up to my property. I wandered over to the Sporting Goods Dept and picked up 5 bricks. It is the only place and time I've seen them.

WalMart at Dundas St. (Halton Rd.5 I think) and Appleby Line in Burlington used to have them for $16-17. Last time I bought from them was in May (that was the store it always used to carry Dynapoints). Try that.

I've been buying them at the Parry Sound Wally World for over a year now.
I think it's a hit and miss thing.....

Ammo seems to be a hot topic in the USA also! Good to see it's not just our prices that are going up!!

I've found QC on Dynapoints to be unsatisfactory...couple at least from each box are either empty (just a piece of brass) or the bullet is seated sideways...I don't mind a couple of extra bucks for American Eagle or Winchester or something similar.

But, when you do find complete/well-made rounds, do they shoot/cycle well? ;)
