I'm looking to stock up on some 22LR. Who sells at the best price in the Lower Mainland of BC? I'm looking for savings and want to buy in 5000 round cases. Several cases.

Blazers have worked good for me but I want a better price. Mainly will be used in a Ruger 10/22, 22/45, S&W 41, and a bolt action CZ 452 that will fire it all.

Tell me what you like and how much it goes for locally.

Thanks!

Perhaps a better question would be who has stock?

Last time I was in Italian Sports and Reliable, rimfire ammo was non existent in 5000 case lots.

I find that Walmart has the best price. You will have to buy 10 boxes but at $17 for 525 rds its not bad. works out to about 4 cents each after tax.

Rosco, what brand/type does Walmart carry for that price? $17 for 525 rounds is about what it was for some Federal HP at Canadian Tire before the Canadian dollar went UP!

Satain, I will have to try some testing out on the Thunder Bolts next time at the range. I take it you don't like the results from it in your guns?

My local Walmart out in the Valley carries the Winchester Dynapoints and Xperts(sp?) in the 500+ bulk packs... IIRC, both are about the same price give or take a dollar...

I tried some of the Winchester 333 round bulk packs at my local Walmart. $9.96 + tax if I remember correctly, which is cheaper than the Federal or Dynapoint bulk packs. My somewhat picky 10/22 and P22 both didn't have a problem with them.

Winchester. They have federal as well but from what I remember it is a couple of bucks more. So I guess it all depends on what you want; Value or Name.

Thunder Bolts are really dirty

I have remington thunder bolt 5000 case for $200 and I also live in the lowermainland.

I bought a case of 5000 ThunderBolts and it was the worst purchase I've ever made. These are the dirtiest 22's I've ever fired. After about 200 rounds through my new Ruger Mark III, the groves in my barrel were completely plugged, essentially making it a smoothbore. The bullets were not stable at all, key-holeing the target at 10 yards. It took way too much time and hard effort to get the barrel clean, with copper brushes and Hoppes #9. Maybe this only happens in pistols. I haven't tried it in rifles. Maybe the powder is slow burning and needs the pressure of a long barrel for it to fully burn. The residue left over in a pistol barrel makes this ammo not suitable even for plinking. That's my personal, hands-on experience.

Yeah, but the Dynapoint (and Federal) box also has almost double the number of rounds...;)

In any event, the Walmart in Abbotsford had the 333's in stock as of last week.

I hear ya about the Thunderbolts being dirty little suckers in a semi. I've since relegated the last remaining bricks to "single shot" duty in my daughter's bolt action...

Crappy Tire always has the cheapest, unless you find a sale on somewhere. AND the one in Pitt Meadows pricing is usually %16 less than the sticker price in the case.

Thanks Jennis. Next time I am out to Abbotsford I will check it out. I'd like to try the 333 out.

Who... what... huh?

Nope. 500 / 333 = 1.502 ... 525 / 333 = 1.577 ... so the Winchester 333 at $9.96 for 333 is equivalent to $14.95 for 500 rounds or $15.70 for 525 rounds. Best price I see so far assuming they shoot OK. Any gun store have them by the case for better?

16% less? Is that an on going sale or something or a mistake they don't know about or what? Interesting.

Dunno, it appears to be a mistake in either old pricing on the shelf, or something goofy in the computer. I make a point of buying random brands and calibers to find out what is cheap. Also found the 15 pack of 12ga winchester is goofy priced there as well. Dunno about other stores. Didn't seem to happen at Poco.
