Best Stainless .45 Buy ?

I have been looking at new 1911A1's in stainless for a while now and was wondering whats the most bang for the buck ?
The Springfield is pretty good value but the Kimber still has my vote.
I want to keep the price in the $1000.00 range. and have been tossing around buying a cheaper model and building it up or just buying the Kimber and being done with it.
The stainless Kimber is about $ 1500.00 new !!! and this blows my budget.
So either I save up and wait for the Kimber or buy a cheaper gun.

X3 for the GI or a Mil Spec if your budget is 1K. If the Kimber you are considering is not in stock be prepared for a long wait. I was origionally going to buy a Kimber but changed to a SA Loaded model due to availability.

ug you had to throw the picture of the taurus in, thats a rugged looking 1911, i just cant justify 899 on it though, if it was lower 800s i would of snagged it.

if thats what the finish of the springfeild is thats on frontiers website then i am most lilkely going with that one as my first 1911.

I handled the Taurus pt1911 at P&D last week and I am very impressed with it, I say it has more features for the buck than any other 1911 out there. I am gonna grab one for myself soon.

G1? I think you mean GI that is the lowest model that Springfield makes in the 1911-A1
