Over a year ago I bought this rifle from Reliable. I was told that it had a chrome lined barrel; hence the extra cost. The rifle is marked as a CZH2003 S/L. NON RESTRICTED. OAL is just over 37"

Now I've been looking and I've never seen a chrome lined czh2003 that isn't RESTRICTED

What exactly do I have? Oh, and the receipt says that it is a CZ858 Sport

I have the exact same rifle and I love it.

I'm still at war with the existing "wood" stock though. I bought a huge 24" long slotted screwdriver white what I thought was a big enough tip. I gave it a good turn and snapped the end of the screwdriver off. Now I am looking for an old school tire iron with the prybar end. The vz-58L stock is my nemesis this week.

If the screwdriver end snapped that's just a cheap screwdriver. I got one for all my guns, as invariably all of them have tight butt stocks, home depot has good ones, hardened steel, about $10 but worth it.

Yea this was a "princess auto" $3 screwdriver. I returned it for full refund.

Nothing else I own is quite as tight as the vz-58 though. I heard horror stories of people giving up and hacking them off. The problem is that I want to keep the original stock intact, and maybe clean it up and paint it black.

Plan B is to find real wood furniture for the 58, but I have had no luck so far.

Wolverine Supplies has two sets of wood stock sets for the VZ58 family in stock.

R u guy's freaken crazy! LoL! In order to losen up the military grade lock tight you will need a heat gun with a cheap screw driver off in 5 minutes. 4 minutes of heating the bolt from the inside the reciever on low heat and about a minute to take the screw out. LoL! Were's the Hammer!!!

There is a section in the vz-58/858 faq on stock removal. It mainly deals with leverage and a lot of swearing. If your method is better you should look into adding it to the FAQ.

I'll give it a try tonight.

I have a Czh2003 as well. I love it. It is currently all dressed up with wood I got from curtton.
