Savage 10 fp Bottom metal Now available

Well "Project Savage" is well under way so I feel that now is a good time to post some pics from Ed's first, or one of the first Savage conversions. Here are the pics as reported from Sniper's Hide. Enjoy.

WOW! That looks really good. I may just have to get one installed on my .308 this winter.

Now if Ed came out with a conversion that would take AR mags for my .223 12VLP I would be set.:)

Anyone else starting/completing a Savage Conversion?

Sorry to bring this old thread back up, but I spent weeks trying to figure out a cheaper route to getting a detachable box magazine kit setup for my savage 10FP with the older savage parts but it's too much work and hassle.

Does anybody have some updated pictures of the vbull system?

Ed- just wondering but I currently have a Bell & Carlson tactical stock on my savage 10FP. If I were to upgrade to a McMillan stock down the road, will the v-bull system fit right into the mcmillan stock? or do I have to modify it to work?

thanks
:)

Well, I just spent a few days trying to put the new gen factory bottom metal into an old gen stock. I have stopped because too much metal/stock needs to be removed to make it work.

Kind of pointless if the bottom falls out :D

As to your question on the stock, Yes and NO. If McMillan inlets the bottom for the Vbull at the factory, sure. Otherwise, they will send a blind mag stock which will need to be inletted.

you can do the same thing to your B&C right now and the alum chassis will work great.

Good luck with your build.

Hello rhtuner,

McMillan Has my inlet program.... if you order a stock from them simply ask for stock to be inletted for VBULL Savage SA, If you find a stock with a blind magazine you can send it to me and I will inlet stock on CNC no problem at all.HOWEVER I do not like inletting B@C stocks for a couple of reasons 1= aluminum Bedding block Is very soft aluminum and Cutter gets fouled-Gummed up and has to be cleared regularly - speed of cutter has to be monitored to avoid Not only deflection but to prevent The aluminum Block from actually being pulled out of Stock substrate by Torque from cutter I have inletted several B@C stock and all have had this problem (I actually inform customers of this prior to inletting To mitigate any liability If block comes free of Substrate ) H@S stocks are No problem at all Aluminum Used machines very well and Bedding block is attached To stock substrate much more robustly. Please feel free to call me and I would be happy to answer Any questions you may have

Regards and Merry Christmas
