What are the legal limits for the rimfire rifle in Canada?
Any link that would help me to understand the rules for this, specific group of firearms?
Is it the same story like with the centre fire long guns (18,5" barrel for example)?
Thank You in advance and sorry for the question, since I believe that this kind of knowledge may be obvious to some of the members of this site.
Best regards.

Hey Nestor, hope all is well. Happy belated birthday to Zosia ;)

Rimfires have no limit, because they are rimfires. You can load up 30 or more rds without issue.

Typically centerfire rifles are restricted to 5 rounds, handguns to 10 rounds. There are some exceptions like the Garand having 8 rds (being a centerfire rifle). Also, pump action shotguns have no limit, where as semi's have 5.

There is also some oddball stuff like the new Questar 10 rd AR mags, which were designed for pistols, so can be used in AR's that are rifles. Confused? welcome to Canadian firearms laws.... :)

Welcome indeed! A few tiny clarifications on what was just said:

The semi-automatic centerfires usually are restricted to 5 rounds (there are some exceptions), and rimfire pistols are capped at a 10-shot mag-capacity. :D

Zosia is the most Canadian out of our three right now (just after 3 months...mind it :D).
However I'm planning to buy the Canadian flag soon, so I won't stay much behind her :dancingbanana:
Now, thanks for the explanation.
I'm a little bit confused with every, new discovery in the field of the gun laws here ;)
Because of the price of the ammo I'm thinking about the rimfire rifle, however I would like to practice with the black rifle.
I know that the "bad looking" rimfires (like GSG5 for example) were banned because of their external apparence.
How about this product?
Prohibited as well?

Once I will finish the paper work thing I'm going to look for AR-180B2, but the above rifle could become alternative of some kind (if legal).

Probably no 5 round restriction as long as the rifle is using the integral magazine (like the tubular one).

Well, funny you should ask this...the 5-round limit applies even to tubular mags of semi-automatics, but not to box-mags of pump-actions...:).

As for your Blue-Line question, it seems to be an AR-15 type of rifle...the barrel-length would be the big difference between "restricted" and "prohibited" status, and the action-type (e.g. piston?) would be the deciding factor for the "non-restricted" vs. "restricted" classification. If that rifle is "restricted" as an AR-15 type, placing the .22 LR unit on it will not change that classification.:(

:D that's some cool stuff :D and thanks for the answer.
I asked the company as well, but if it's a restricted rifle I will stick with the Armalite's product most probably.
Well, we will see.
