why does kimber hate canada?

To quote the CEO of Remington who was asked to support a Canadian pro- firearms group, "Canada is less than 4 percent of our business, frankly we don't care". This was before USDOS started to invent new reasons not to export to Canada every week. We are statistically insignificant. I'm pretty sure that somewhere in Texas there's a dealer who sells as many Kimbers in a month as Canada sells in a year. Maybe there's one who clears as many in a week.

I would have to say that Kimber most certainly does not "hate" Canadians. I can tell you that I have dealt with their customer service dept and custom shop on several occassions and I would make the comparison that they are the RCBS of the 1911 world. They have sent me free replacement parts for warranty service. Further, when they've seen my 5 year old TLE and noticed that the night sights were getting "off color", they replaced them for nothing.

if dealer are getting just one shipment a years it is because they want it to order once a year. But the thing is that you have to order 10K per year and pay cash so some dealer can only afford to do it once a year.

This man wins the cupie doll!!!

It's not a case of Kimber not liking us Canadians, it's just that thier business model doesn't work well for export.

I agree, I calld up because I damaged some bushings because of my own stupidity and they sent me new ones free of charge. great servise.

Kimber has a crazy way of dealing with foreign orders. They don't put us in a production queue until we pay. So after we pay for our order, it may still be 3 months till we see it. Since they will not fast track a pre paid foreign order, there is very little incentive to order often or big. Many dealers tire of this type of treatment and look for better options through other product lines.

Its not like anyone else in this forum made assumptions with no facts to back them up... lol...

but I also did learn something today

facts were, we dont really get alot of kimbers up here, ever

reasons are that they have a very odd way of dealing with foreign orders compared to other companies

Yep.. not that they "hate" canada... just reminds me of the Ebay thread a while back...

I have had no problems finding the Kimber that I wanted. I decided to get a Custom II .45acp and they had them in stock at a local shop.

I also called Kimber Post-9/11 and they were super kind and friendly (I was surprised by how far they went for just 1 Canadian customer)!
I like Kimber because of the service I got.
