Canam...

A couple of questions... sorry if some are dumb... I don't know much about double barrel shotguns

- does it only have 1 hammer? ( looks like only 1 in the pictures )
- cocked each time, barrel selected by trigger?
- any safety?
- best practise for carry in the field?? loaded but barrels open?
- one bead centred between the barrels?

edited - weight??

Screw the morning, 2AM and I ordered me a SXS 12ga. Life is good... it will hopefully be better when the 12inch gets here :shotgun:

Tempting Fate.......AGAIN !

Just ordered an Outlaw Double (just love those stage coach style exposed hammers) as a packsack gun and checked to make sure that eardrum transplants were included on my company medical plan.

This will be my first non-restricted packsack gun that will actually fit into a normal sized suitcase for travelling.

The pump action Dominion Grizzly I purchased previously will be used for deer hunting in thick brush in shotgun only areas of southern Ontario.......I've never seen anything more suited for that purpose.

US Federal Law: "Short-barreled shotgun" means a shotgun having one or more barrels having a
length of less than 18 inches measured from closed breech or bolt face to muzzle or a
shotgun having an overall length of less than 26 inches."

I believe these "snub nosed" shotties are NFA regulated guns in the USA.

Caution: I am not a lawyer and the above statement is a personal opinion and must not be construed as legally factual or correct or in any way advice or encouragement to do any of the things stated therein.

It almost seems like there's a loophole in Canadian firearms law that allows this type of gun into the non-restricted category that the drafters of Bill C-17 & Bill C-68 forgot to plug.

I just hope the Coalition (if it happens) or the next Liberal government doesn't stick these "snub nosed" shotties into a 12-xx Prohib category & they wind up collecting dust in my gun safe or prohibiting them without grandfathering & scooping them along with the handguns & semis.

I remember how pizzed off I was when the feather light & quick pointing little .30 caliber M-1 (18" bbl.) carbine I used as a brush gun for deer was restricted.

Do you pay a down payment or full price when ordering? I've kinda been turned off of pre-orders due to a recent SKS fiasco;).

:DI paid in full via credit card on the CanadaAmmo.com website and had no problems getting the Dominion Arms Grizzly pump action shotgun I bought a month ago.

Their website is very professional looking & I think the underlying organization is equally professional & above board.

I'm not concerned in the slightest at this time about the integrity of CanadaAmmo.com.

I'm far more concerned about the next friggin Liberal government restricting or prohibiting the "snub nose" shotties than I am about this supplier.

I have no doubts in regard to Canada Ammo, Ive heard nothing but good things. It's the fact that they dont have them in stock yet, meaning the government can f**k things around before they get here and delay the arrival for quite some time.
