Just got my hands on my Christmas present - a HK P7 PSP that I bought from a CGNer. I loaded several dummy rounds into the mag and played with it... Well, something happened.
The recoil spring was much stronger than I thought, and I failed to pull the slide fast enough to eject the dummy. As a result, instead of flying out of the ejection port, the dummy dropped into the frame and got stuck there.
Interestingly, the dummy could not just fall through the feed ramp like in other pistols, because there is a small metal tap right under the feed ramp, which does not allow the dummy to fall.
The dummy ended up tightly stuck - it could not go up because it had its head against the top of the slide, and could not fall down because of the tap. The slide could not lock back, and could not be removed. And the spring was so strong that I could not keep pulling it back for more than 5 seconds.
I asked my wife to come help me, with lub, a wood stick, pliers, etc. We tried striking from the bottom and pulling from the top. But that damned dummy just got dead stuck in there, and would not budge. It took me almost one hour to finally be able to pry it out of there. Fortunately I got away without causing any damage to the slide. But my fingers are red and sore.
Later I looked at this evil metal tap. I couldn't figure out why it is there, and what it is for. It is not the slide lock-back, it is not connected to the cocking lever. Does anybody know why it has to be there?
