Ruger No.1 Stainless ??

Did the stainless version ever come in .338WM? Also, anyone get one in .375 Ruger yet?:)

I think the stainless laminate .375 Ruger is a Distributor Exclusive to Lipseys. Not sure how many will find heir way into Canada? We actually have a couple of .375 Ruger's in stock with the nice circassion walnut and upgraded checkering. As far as I know, no #1's have yet been made as a regular run in .375 Ruger.

Here's the answer I received from a guy that knows more about #1's than I ever will:

S/A

I retrieved my file of old Ruger catalogs in response to your query. The short answer is NO!

As I'm sure you know, The K1-BZ (Stainless #1-B) first appeared in 2001. It was cataloged in .243 Win, .25-06, .270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm STW, .30-06, .308 Win, and .300 Win Mag. Thus I can tell you it was certainly never catalogued! (BTW... the 1-S model was never made in SS except in the .45-70..)

However as you know, some distributers are known to comission special runs. That said, I've never seen one. But I did see a K1-BZ in 7mm-08.

If I may be so bold as to ask.... What is this fascination with SS?

I have always like the intrinsic beauty of laminated stocks, but in reality they are too heavy to be practical on a #1 that is already too heavy to hunt with as it is... Just idle thoughts from a mostly idle mind. ..

Cool, thanks. I like SS for the abuse factor. As a dedicated moose rifle, it would not likely see too many sunny days, and definitely no hay or bean fields.

Rain, snow, and Boreal. :)

As far as the stainless/laminate goes, he was just giving me a hard time because he knows I'm a sucker for nice wood. :)
