All right,

I have a friend who thinks that you can't legally hunt with a M14 in Saskatchewan because of capacity issues. He thinks 4 is the limit.

Is this true?

I looked, I tried.

Please tell me this is wrong.

What's the capacity limit for deer hunting in Saskatchewan hunting?

Your friend is wrong. Compliance with federal firearms regulations means the magazine capacity limit is five rounds for semi-auto rifles, but Saskatchewan hunting regulations don't regulate beyond that.

I believe the centerfire semi-auto's are limited to 5 rounds in Sask. If you use a Garand it has to have the 5 round clip modif ication to be legal for hunting notwithstanding the federal exemption for the 8 round enbloc.

Jealous, maybe. We have a few idiots where I live that freak out at the sight of a milsurp of any sort that is being used for hunting. Bolt actions included, one fool even bitc-ed about a Martini in 303 Brit.

There's just no telling the reasons people have for calling foul.
