Anybody used bushnell elite precision spotter

I thought it was the Leupold Golden Ring that I had compared it against.. but looking on the Leupold site, the Focus knob on the Sequoia looks more like the model I looked at (was over a year ago already).

Best is to take several models outside of the store to compare them.

Best bang for the buck with the 80mm Elite, 2nd best would be the 60mm. FS

was doing some searching and located this post.

would you recommend the straight or 45° eyepiece? and more importantly, why?

thx

Another thumbs-up here for the Elite spotter.

The straight eyepiece is a little bit easier to use, i.e. to find your target in the scope, especially if you are new to spotting scopes and their use. The angled eyepiece has several other advantages. It's much easier set up next to your shooting position, allowing you to take a shot, move your head slightly, and look through the scope without shifting the position of your body or gun. In this case the scope is mounted with the eyepiece angled to the side instead of straight up.

Another benefit of the angled eyepiece is the ability to lower the scope several inches. The higher you extend your tripod, the more instability you produce, especially in a high wind. Looking down into the eyepiece lets you keep the scope and tripod lower, and makes a noticeable difference. It also allows two people of different heights to use the scope without constantly adjusting tripod height. You simply swivel the eyepiece up for the taller guy, then around to the side for the shorter. Focus and alignment remain unaffected. Prevents frayed tempers at the range.

I use the B&L elite 20-60 x80MM Best bang for the buck.
Pentax Lieca and Kowa are a step up both in optics and money

I have several spotting scopes with both styles of eye pieces. I prefer the straight eye pieces. I 'd rather bend at my knees to see though the eye piece than continually be bending my neck. I always set my scope at the range a few feet to one side or the other so I have get up from the shooting bench to use it. Just how I like to do it. I also use a full size tripod as I'm 6' 5" tall. I have a Bausch & Lomb Spotter with 20-60 eyepeice and 77MM objective paid $1100.00 for it new. Very good for spotting bullets up to 300M you can spot them at 500 on days when it is not to warm as you get the heat waves that make it difficult at 500M. So depending on how much you want to spend the Elite series gives you a good bang for your buck. If you are into 500 meter range you will have to spend more money on a Leica or Swarovski.
