u could probably get a used stoeger 2000 for less than 400Why don't you hold out and save some money for a decent Auto loader? If you are going to shoot skeet. The Auto is the way to go.
Hi I would have never bought a mossberg but what I have been told is that if you are going to use it in dirty conditions (back packing, camping, Quading etc) the mossberg wont have trouble cycling the action where as the 870 might tend to jam because of its tighter tolerances. I have had no trouble with mine and I love its versatility.

"Tighter" tolerances on an 870?Not on any of the 870's I've seen or own,unless they were an older wingmaster. Even those actions could never be described as "tight."

The 500 is a fine gun, but the only thing it passed was the $$$$dollar$$$$ test and Mossberg got the in for a $$$$$$lucrative$$$$$ military contract.![]()
