Do some of the Swiss Arms rifles accept AR mags?

I thought I saw one for sale on the EE a long time ago. If yes, is it a factory-only item, or can they be retro-fitted?

Thanks

It was a SIG 556 lower, which uses AR mags, but mates with the Swiss Arms uppers....
Not to be seen again, unless there was a big demand.

Aside from the LAR-15 ten rounders up here in Canada, I fail to see the infatuation with using AR-15 mags in a Swiss Arms/SIG rifle....the easily damaged and somewhat poorly designed AR-15 mag has always been that rifles' Achilles Heel. In terms of reliability, ease of use, i.e., ability to snap together and sheer toughness, the polymer SIG 550 magazines wins hands down; everytime went put up against AR mags. I'm not bashing the AR either, as I love both types, own multiples of each and have two more ARs on the way! However, I shudder every time I look that abortion of a rifle, the SIG 556. Even if they were available in Canada, I think I'd rather have an SKS given the choice.

I just look on my Swiss Arms... the serial number is on the upper. sweet

So why we don't start the production of a Swiss Arms lower/Ar-15 mags.

Thats is a good progect for Alberta Tactical Rifle !

How long is your index finger?

Thats really not an issue, what is an issue is that the uppers that we have here only work with Colt mags when mated with the US Sig lower.

You have to either make a small relief notch on all your mags or take your uppers and have a small amount of metal removed from where the mags hit, all common AR mags needs this relief notch except the Colt mags so its really not plug and play.

I think you should try a SIG 556 before giving out the 3 cheers to the idea.

x2 I'm getting pretty sick and tired of waiting for 30rnd Swiss mags to make an apperance...not to mention when they do they will cost double the price of AR mags.

Aside from the fact you could potentially have two rifles sharing the same mags, I don't get why people would want AR mags over Sig ones. The AR mag seating method is more prone to operator error and system failure compared to the Sigs.
Good AR mags are not in abundance any moreso than the Sig mags.
About the only AR mag I'd stack up against the Sig mags for reliability are the PMags, and while they shouldn't, they do command a price of around $50 a piece up here when you see them on the EE (and they aren't there very long at that price).
Last time I bought 5/30 round Sig mags, they were $65 each; not exactly double the price.

I just dislike the Sig/AK stylle mag of having to rock the mag in and totally hate the stiff/awkward mag release.

AR style of push and drop free mag release works perfect for me.
