Any other method of paying for IPSC(Ontario) Fees if you don't have cheques?? EMT,, (FRAUD ALERT)..

well, if it is any help, in Alberta we are set up to received a scanned copy of your membership and a EMT for your payment. Works real well after a BB course. scan in the new members forms and send. send an EMT payment an voilà, new members are done.

It would help if I could send fees to alberta for Ontario...lol but in this day and age it should be an option...

You used to be able to pay in cash at the hangover match..

Was hoping to pay at the Sin City Match but when I went there it was cancelled...

Money order too much work... then I'd have to mail it.. even more work... I'll call Bud see if he'll take EMT plus fees... probably not but couldn't hurt to ask him I guess

So far you can pay cash at all matches but I have noticed a sharp increase in match fees I know everything gets more expensive but I think I have seen a match fee of $40 for a level 2 ???

$40 for a level2??? :onCrack: we're are own worst enemy.
payment by credit card would be a novel thing since it is the 21st century now. :bangHead: :nest:

I have seen 40 bucks only once, part of the fee went to the cause.
Normally Level I is $20
Level II $25-30
Level III, all depends who holds it, I say around 100 bucks

I think fee should be calculated based on number of rounds and number of stages.

I don't think people whining, they are just concern. Not everyone has money to afford matches but they love to shoot (then ad up gas, lunch). I have a one friend who is in process of changing a job and he can't afford high fees.
I believe, the fees should be set based on some formula. Not, we have Level I match with more rounds for 15 bucks better then Level II match for 25.

NB level 2 matches are $20,..with approx. 120- 160rd count.
NS is the same,.$20 for approx 8 stages if 130+rds indoors,.usually more outdoors.

...the round count has nothing to do with the "value" of a match. I'd much rather shoot a 4 stage 80 round match of well thought out stages, with lots of options...rather than a match designed soley on a high round count.

I've paid $20 for a Level 2 and felt like asking for half of my money back. I've paid $40 for a Level 2 and felt like I'd owed them $10 more...

We should note that in NS and NB, things are run different than ON.
(probably due to our smaller population)
The L2 is a one day match with no pre-registration.
Everyone shows up at the start time; (10 AM) registers, is squadded.
Then everyone works; officiates, patches, etc. and everyone goes home at the end of the day (goal = 4 PM) at the same time.

No one can call up and say I'm going to shoot in the 3:00 PM squad. Show up and just shoot.

Not that I'm saying one system is better than another, I'm just saying they are different.

Also, range overhead costs are probably less down east...

:agree:

I love that :dancingbanana:

one of the benefits to living in the maritimes....all the matches are well thought out in my experience,..high value, high round count matches,...I have been to nearly 85% of all the matches over the last 4 years in Atlantic Canada, and the only dissapointment is that I did not get to attend the other 15%.

can some one explain to me how the $70 i send into IPSC Ontario is spent ?

You can go to the secured portion of our website and look at the financial statements.

Once you've done that, you can contact me (or any member of the board) if you have any specific questions

Cheers
Craig

I'm sure it's something similar to BC, although we charge around $75.

$30 IPSC Canada (part of which is forwarded to IPSC World Body)
$10 publications and mailings
$10 team trophies and awards
$15 insurance
$10 general maintenance, like website, stipends for Board of Directors, phone bills and running RO/CRO/TCI courses
