Anyone know where I can purchase a Fabrique Nationale PS-90? I bought one in the US earlier this year, got the import permit and even got the registration certificate for the gun, but the f*****ng Department of State refused the export permit. I have tried contacting FN in Belgium but no-one responds. The guys in Belgium deal in Military and LE, so they not interested in commercial sales. The FN USA people deal with commercial sales but once again, I would be dealing with the US DOS and would probably be dealing with the export issues again.

Sorry, but you are #### out of luck. DoS are not going to budge. FN will be of no help. The last guy that tried to grey market them into Canada is taking it up the ass as we speak for other issues.

Not really...........

Gray Market ?

dude smuggling is black market.

Unless its clear all way around its not...

if there was any crime on your side of the fence the dealer would have gotten smack...

All the dealer got was a nice 2 hour visit by the ATF who briefed them on the new regs and apologized for not doing a proper notofication...

On this side of the fence the only one that was legal imported as per canadian law (ie proper docs etc was mine) the ones that he who shall not be named did had falsified verifiers info and other irregularities

Importing is fine and legal - it is just the US that the export would be illegal for the dealer. Too bad, anyhow. I wish the guys in Belgium would be responsive.

In that persons case yes...but not mine

There was on both sides.

Illegal import and Export no ?

KPA

I bought mine from a US citizen whom i met at the canadian boarder. All my paperwork was proper and legit. Fully declared and taxes and duty paid. If the person in the us exported the rifle not in accordance with a US policy I have no information or control over that..

Kepp in mind most people think inside a box...

for example...if you are on you boat and you have your AK-47 which you legally own in in Texas...you are in Africa while sailing around the world. When your boat break down and you are towed in to port you are told that the cost to fix the boat is more cash than you have but you can sell your rifle...technically you will break US export regs if you sell it and could face 10 years in jail..

its a bizarre world out there

That was then. now a Canadian Citizen cannot import a firearm with out DFAIC and that means an Export permit from the country of origin and in addition all private sale firearms must be registered prior to entry into Canada along with copies of both the DFAIC and Export documentation

Can they be purchased in another country (other than USA) and imported to Canada, say Switzerland? or Norway? or....?

Could RNichols/FN Sports get off their *sses and bug Belgium for a hundred or so????????

Didn't think so, might drive up the phone bill.

If you noticed ATF you planned to leave the state ...
- and if your trip was planned outside the waters of the US - you may find some small problem, for as soon as you left US waters ou where in ITAR violation.

Second thing some people don't understand is that it IS a crime in Canada to conspire with others to have them break the law in their country... Counselling an offence

The Box is LEGAL FRAMEWORK - its not like people intentionally don't sell things out of spite.
