Laurentian Wildlife - canned hunts...

I believe you are a species Hunter, the more you have on your resume the more you feel you are a more accomplished hunter.

Unfortunately, what you believe is wrong. I hunt for the experience and part of the experience for me is travelling to other parts of the world to hunt. I don't have a hunting resume nor do I care about collecting species. I care about experiencing the hunting culture wherever my travels take me. I find it helps me open my mind.......

What gives me a laugh are the guys that are shaking after they shoot a animal, wtf they jump around like they have got a cure for cancer.

It's really too bad that you've never felt that emotion or passion, either that or you have lost it. I still get the same thrill from each hunt that I did 40 years ago. If that ever goes away I'll happily hang up my gun. Again with the judging other hunters CROW and belittling their emotions and passion.

It's unfortunate that you cannot discuss hunting without laughing at other hunters or belittling their accomplishments. I'm always interested in what drives others to hunt but I really don't have much time for those that must place themselves above others that derive something else from this great heritage. CROW, I truly feel bad for you not having experienced the love and passion for hunting that many of us do. It's definitely your loss!

Probably a lucky thing Crow wasn't watching the Disney channel, all those talking animals would have really befuddled his perception of reality.:p:p

Gatehouse he could have shot the hippo way before it charged,it was cool, if he had shot it beside the tree there would be no charge.

O f course there would have been no charge if he shot it by the tree...Just liek shooting a moose standing beside a tree doesn't give you a charge. But it still wouldn't have been the same as shooting a cow in a pasture...

So why wait till he charges,I don't need a adrenaline rush that bad.He looked like a smaller one do you think they were going to pass on him till he charged?

bearkilr do you feel it is hard to shoot animals with a fire arm?
My Hunting buddies go moose hunting and the work involved in getting the moose out of the bush is to much work for me.It is getting easier with the ATV but it cant always get to the moose.

LMAO....moose are too much work and you were mocking caribou and musk ox hunters.....man, you are a gas!

Love to hunt just don't understand the jumping around, after a kill.
That one clown and his wife on the Hunting channel not sure of his name, was at anicosta island (might not be spelled right) shot a decent deer, not big by any means,he was crying. What an ass.
When you kill an animal on the farm its meat, there is no need for a celebration.

????? Anticosti is far from a farm......totally free range.

Then you should stick to floating down a river, and shooting the sleeping hippos:p

Are you an expert in field judging hippos?

BTW, They drew the charge on themselves. Long before the charge, they had decided to take that hippo. Did you see/hear the guy scuffing his foot?

So what? The fella recognizes this as a significant event in his life. Are you gauging his reason to cry on the size of the deer's antlers??

I fail to see anything worth verbally attacking in his reaction.

I guess that hunting is only done correctly if it's the way YOU do it.

Sheephunter we have been down this road, shooting a caribou is not that hard,we never talked about dragging it out of the bush.
I assume you are an accomplished hunter and marksman, how many big game animals did you shoot at and not kill this season?I know all hunters only take that guaranteed shot.
I have not mocked musk ox hunters,I dont think it is that difficult. You have stated the hunt was memerable because you spent time in a cold tent and some elder shared the hunt with you. That is fantastic.
You followed the herd with a snomobile and made the kill.Fantastic
If it was 90 degrees would it be as memerable.
How long did it take to get the musk ox?4 weeks?
Give me some info maybe I will change my mind???????
As for dragging a moose out of the forest I have no interest.Never said I ever wanted to or ever have Hunted moose.
As for hunting passion?Tracked a coyote for aprox 3 miles today so some else could shoot it.Tracked another for aprox one mile for some one else to shoot.
Yesterday spent approx 5 hours chasing and tracking another for some one else to shoot.
Going tommorrow maybe I might get a shot?

Gate house, never said I was,I asked you if you thought it was a smaller one?As for doing things my way not necessary, this all started when I commented on a TV show and sheephunter stated my opinion was not valid since I was inexperience at musk ox hunting. To get to the starting thread I have stated it was like hunting in a fenced compound.
As for looking for a Hippo to charge is stupid, as for hunting them in there sleep never ever said I have ever hunted hippo.
No I am basing my opinon on what I have posted, jumping around like a idiot after you kill something makes me laugh.

I watched a TV show on brain surgery. They had lots of computers and machines to help them. It didn't look too tough, looked like a paint by numbers.

Judging brain surgery by a short TV show makes about as much sense as judging a 10 day hunt by a short TV clip.

So by your reasoning, if a guy wants to hunt hippos, he's stupid if he hunts them charging, and it's not "tough enough" if he shoots them while unawares. Sounds as if I was correct:

I guess that hunting is only done correctly if it's the way YOU do it.
