Yes, the Hogue grip is now standard. The gun fits like a glove with this grip; much better than the rosewood insert grip IMO. From their website it doesn't look like Ruger offers the rosewood grip version anymore but I still came across them in the stores I visited.
As this is my first wheel gun and I'll be mostly shooting .38 special lead bullets, can anyone recommend what parts to pay special attention to in terms of maintenance and cleaning if I want to keep her humming for the long haul... and yes, I've read the manual.Cheers!
Cleaning? Residue will cake all over the Stainless. Make sure to wipe it down after every shoot, not a cleaning, just a wipedown, especially in the cylinder surface as they get hot and like to bake the residue in.
