Being new to the gun market here in Canada, and currently seeing how popular anything made by Magpul is right now. I had some questions about PMAGS, what stores originally sold them? How much were they? I've only had my Ar since October so I never really paid attention before this, this isn't about where can I find some,I just wanted to know when they first arrived, cost, who sold em, cause right now no online store here has them even listed so info is hard to come by.

i believe tacshot was the only "store" selling them..... but believe he is having legal troubles now.

otherwise I am unsure of any other canadian dealer having them in stock, which would lead me to believe that ALL of the pmags are grey market....

correct me if i am wrong with this assumption....

I had heard that rumor as well, that ALL pmags in Canada are illegally brought in or something along those lines. Not the Tacshot ones, but the ones now on the market are illegally brought in, which begs the question, where did the NIB pmags for sale in the EE come from?

Not the Tacshot ones........

oooooooooooook

the new ones are coming from people who drive down to the USA and bring them back as personal items.... they declare them and pay the taxes and canada customs lets them through no problems.

the problem is not the canadian side, the problem is the american side, canada could care less as long as you declare and pay taxes on them....

the problem is no export/import permits have been issued for them for civilian sales.... so basically the retailers are #### out of luck.

I asked before, for example if I drove down to Minot with my rivet gun, bought a dozen and came back, I was told Canada Customs would seize them. Is that false?

Dave's had some about a month ago. Sold out in a couple hours. They never hit the website. The guys told me they expect some more maybe this month or the next.

We have 0 up here, but meanwhile down in the US, I'm reading message boards were they currently have to wait up to 3-4 weeks for the backorder they placed to arrive,(boo hoo) and some guys ordered 20+ Pmags. I also laugh when they complain about having to pay 19 bucks for a pmag, I wish.

Up here it's 40 to 60 bucks a pop and a wait up months depending how EE savvy you are.

You have been misinformed my friend...

Imagine if we had a market up here that didn't have only enough for 1/4 of the possible buyers. Maybe one day we won't all be like dogs fighting for that one scrap of meat, which I think is a perfect analogy for our gun market. Whether it be P Mags or AR lowers, it always seems that we never have enough to go around.

But whatever, mky wife and I are moving to Corpus Christi in the next few years. Texas here I come. Guns and Meat for me :)

LOL just in time for the US Assualt Weapon Ban get used to using 5 rnd mags because that is what the US will be enjoying as well

ha ha ha ha Savage: I lived through all that Slick Willy generation of AWB(ans) and I remember all the fuss south of the border with the Pre/Post Ban issues. Now that Obama Bin Ladin is ready to be sworn in... we might see more interesting times. And more 5 / 30 round magazines!. I would not put it past him for do such antics.

On a more serious note, I've been in communication with a CGN sponsoring dealer and the message is that Magpul will not block/rivet/pin/lance them for our market and it's not cost effective to have them pinned/blocked/modified/neutered BEFORE they come over the border. That's all I'm going to say! I'm not passing judgement on anybody, nor am I gonna flame anybody. That's the situation we find ourselves in.

Hope this helps.....

What a bunch of bunk, PMags cost $15.00 USD, it takes about 2 mins to pin them' they sell in Canada for 45.00 or more, there is no way that is not cost effective, lazy yes, but definitely cost effective.

yes i concur, beautiful mags. get them up here. we should get some group buys going. like someone else said they would sell... bring them here and we will buy

The Tango Down mags look promising as long as it is taken into account they are disposable not an heirloom to be handed down through the generations.

CAA,never bought anything from them, never will.
