The list is $1,635.00 (US), God only knows what it would cost in Canada. Regards, Richard :)

For reasons as yet unknown to me, every time I bought a new S&W, I paid, in Canadian dollars, the same dollar amount as what was advertised on the S&W website. YMMV, but it wouldn't surprise me if that gun sold for 1700$ in Canada.

It does have some high quality components but I prefer a classic slab sides. I could build a comparable 1911 in 9mm for just about half that price. Dlask will build you a nice high quality Canadian made 1911 for 500 bucks less.

If it had regular serrations I would like it alot more.

Dlask is built on a cast frame (S&W's is forged) and lacks front strap checkering, which is a fairly pricey option. As for the wavy serrations, they actually provide better grip than traditional, which is why you're seeing them on modern service pistols such as M&P and 4th generation Glock.

I have a S&W 19111. A really nice shooter.

This past month I bought the new Taurus PT1911. What a nice pistol built just as well as my S&W but with more options for $475.00 less.

No series 80 firing pin, usually, well manufactured pistol. But , the price is a bit steep at $1635.00 US. I will have to check for the EE in the next couple of month ??

Since we are so off topic on building a 9mm 1911 another good alternative is to build on norinco forged frame; sure it will take a bit of work to make it pretty but the base is tough.

I'm building two identical 1911 with light rails on norinco frames and caspian slides with a mix of Ed Brown / EGW / Kart parts. :)
