Winchester 351

I have recently purchased a winchester 351. My question is all the research I have done doesn't show a 1905 in 351 however markings on my barrel say it is a 1905 in 351. Does anyone have any knowlege or history on this gun.

A Winchester model 1905 is made for the cals 32WSL and 35WSL.
The model 1907 was made for the 351WSL and the 1910 for the 401WSL

The M1905 was only chambered in 32 WSL and 35 WSL, the M1907 in 351 WSL, and the M1910 in 401 WSL.

I suppose you could have a M1905 receiver with a M1907 barrel chambered in 351 WSL.

To be sure, a chamber cast would be the best way to go, or you could try to chamber an unprimed 357 Mag cartridge (with the rim diameter reduced to 0.410"). If it doesn't chamber it isn't 351 WSL. If it does, it isn't 35 WSL.

The markings for 1905 and 351 are on the barrel not the receiver that is why I am confused. I will try and get some pictures up in the next day or so.
 
All I use for bullets heavier than 150gr is a full case of H4227 - usually 16-20 grs.

Brass can be made from 357 Maximum by turning down the rim to 0.410" and deepening the extractor groove.

Bullets if cast can be 38 Super 0.355" or if jacketed, 9mm bullets swaged down to 0.352"

357 Mag dies work fine.

I've got one in .401. what a big heavy pig :)

some interesting wartime history on these early winchester semi's - seems pilots in WWI favored them for plane to plane combat.
 
Here are some pics of my rifle. As you can see it states model 1905 and cal .351 on the barrel. So I take it this is unusual since every one is saying that a .351 should be a 1907 and not a 1905.

It looks like someone added a "1" after "the "35" (there should be a space between "351" and "CAL" and the "1" isn't right ), so it was probably rechambered from 35 WSL to 351 WSL.

I bought the last .406" bullets from Epps. Brass from Buffalo Arms in the US is available. I bought a Lee Loader so they are available. Midway USA says these guys can supply their .406 bullets:
