Recommended Cheek Rest

Hi,

The new M-14S showed up a couple of days before X-Mas!

Had an old B-square mount and scope kicking around so I mounted it onto the rifle.

As expected, with the higher scope mounting, I am having difficulty getting a consistent "cheek weld" on the stock. Suggestions on aftermarket cheek pads (removable) that have worked for you would be appreciated.

i bought the m1a cheek rest that you drill two holes for from desertwarriorproducts.com

It works amazing! Being able to adjust and then tighten the cheek rest makes for the tightest cheek weld possible. The only problem is the glossy black of the cheek rest was a bit .. well .. ugly. I had it duracoated tactical black to match my usgi stock.

hey matte is cool but i prefer the satin finish for my m14, it's not glossy its just more shiny then matte but less shiny than glossy
(but i have yet to install my cheek rest, i got the same as you do) Don't know why you thought it was THAT ugly

I picked one up from OST Supply (look up for the link)

I used High density foam to build it up a bit in order to set the right height. It looks very "field expedient" which I think adds to the Look Cool Factor. One of these days I have to post pictures.
 
You could also check to see if Rooster33(newly returned to CGN), is making his cheek rests again. They are an excellent product, fully adjustable.

Get some tactical

just type that into google and you will get tot the site. They have a good check rest that straps on and I found it works really good on my M-14.
