If blasting away is your only requirement, they all will work O.K. Have a blast:D

Pistol grips are cool but not practical for shotguns. After a dozen or so rounds your wrists won't agree with you. You really need a full stock to shoulder for extended shooting scenarios. I like the Remingtons, they're like the 10/22 of shotguns with tons of aftermarket stuff. After the whole tactical craze loses wind in your sail, you'll will end up with a double barreled coach gun.

i started off with a pistol grip only -winny defender- and quickly found that it CERTAINLY wasn't my cup of tea- switched over to a choate folder and found it FAR more versatile- plus i can still go pistol grip only whenever i want it- same with any folder- it's just the "look cool" factor showing

Everybody needs to try a pistol grip only shotgun just to get it out of their system.

Buy a Remington 870 Express with a full stock and short barrel. Swapping out the stock for the pistol grip is easy. Go to range, fire repeatedly with 3" magnums. After the realization hits and you've missed more often than you've hit and your wrist hurt like hell, go home, put the full stock back on and sell the pistol grip on the EE.

or someone should get a bunch of these and rent them out with an option to buy if they really liked it. A refundable deposit should be required. I forsee that one could make a fortune just on newbie gunnutz:D

I will argue with some of the above posts about the uselessness of a pistol grip pump 870. I agree that the collapsible Knoxx stock on my 8.5 Dlask is a nicer option, and one I use 98% of the time.....but with the Knoxx Breachers grip on it you can drop a lot of slugs down range without too much grief, and on my 18.5 inch 870 Tac2 you could do it all day with magnum slugs.

For a low priced entry into the shotgun world of pistol grips, I would buy a Mossberg 500 with a full stock, then buy the Knoxx Breachers grip form TSE and install it when you want to play Arnold. Nice thing about a longer barrel shottie is the 'no gray area' legality of the pistol grip...it's all over 26". :)

Mossberg Maverick 88 would be the best bet. great combo gun for under 500 bucks. 18" defender barrel and a 28 inch target barrel. very quick and easy barrel swap. less than 30 seconds. comes with a full stock. buy a pistol grip and put it on along with the 18 inch barrel for some serious fun! i should know. i have a Maverick. :D
