Wooden Stock and Grip on an AR15

springfield armoury did a run of wood stocks on ARs in the 1970s or so.
 
As a woodworker, this is intriguing. I could build that!

Could you do a run of 80% lowers for us CGN'rs?:p In hardwood/laminate it would actually work fine I think, the upper is where all the abuse is. Would probably light up on full auto though?

I'd like to see a chrome plated with shiny walnut done up as a presentation grade type AR. They do have some appeal with the walnut.

In a very hard wood I could see it working. Ebony would be a great choice being naturally mostly black, it is extremely hard, but can be brittle. What a cool project that would be, and to have the only registered WOODEN gun. :D
 
It would be seriously cool. Ebony is expensive, one of the most expensive woods, finding a piece large enough without improper drying cracks would be difficult. I could also use another wood. I'll think about it. :D
